To facilitate the capital fundraising journey for Founders with innovation and technology-driven companies, the Monterrey REAP (Regional Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program) team decided to create Demo Day Monterrey as one of its initiatives.
The Monterrey REAP team is designing and promoting initiatives for the development and integration of a sustainable ecosystem of technology-based entrepreneurship and innovation, with the participation of all stakeholders.
The team’s formation comes from participating in the MIT Regional Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program (MIT REAP), a global initiative designed to help regions around the world accelerate their economic growth and job creation through Innovation-Driven Entrepreneurship (IDE).
Innovation-Driven Entrepreneurship (IDE)
At its core, the program draws on MIT research that emphasizes an innovation ecosystem framework focused on the distinct yet interdependent roles of innovative capacity (the ability to develop new technology) and entrepreneurial capacity (the ability to scale startup businesses). It builds on evidence that successful regions link entrepreneurship and innovation to uncover a comparative advantage through Innovation-Driven Entrepreneurship (IDE).
